There is a fairly good chance Hurricane Ike will pass directly over my apartment tomorrow.  I’m in the process of preparing for the Hurricane.  Yesterday I spent most of my time backing up files for my clients and making sure everyone was set so that if I disappeared for a week, no one would notice.  Today I’m putting furniture up on tables and computers on racks in my closet and generally making sure that if I get a few feet of water in here it will be someone else’s problem.

While I work, I can’t push out of my mind the fact that today is September 11th, 2008.  I watched the towers fall on live television.  I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that what I saw shook me to my core.  I still can’t bring myself to watch documentaries on it.  I can still see the towers fall in my mind when I think about it.

I will never forget.
