I don't post after I've been drinking, but sometimes I wonder what I was thinking when I do things like that. Then I remind myself that I don't post after drinking. Then I look at what I wrote. Then I wonder how messed up I had to be to not remember posting that.

... I could just be stupid, too. That's always a strong possibility.

I'm think I'm gonna blame it on juggling 300 names and just being human. ... yeah, that sounds like a good excuse. :P

Thanks, Jen. I really do appreciate it.

Oh - two more:
Florida - you should remove Mel Martinez, since he resigned the Senate seat and no longer is in office.

Minnesota - first, Norm Coleman is a Republican, not a Democrat. Second, he lost his 2008 re-election to Al Franken.

Virginia - the two U.S. senators are Jim Webb (who does not tweet) and Mark Warner (who does, and whose count you listed correctly).

Mike Gravel is a former U.S. Senator from Alaska.

I have been including party officials and appointed political figures -- I'll be happy to add you Juneau.

I think the criteria I'm going to have to follow for this is going to be that the account is 1) directly related to American office holders and 2) limited to individuals or campaign offices. So committees will be out (a number of congressional committees have twitter accounts and I'm not bothering with them) and PAC leaders will be out unless they're former officials or highly likely to run for office. I don't really have a problem with party officials since they're actively involved in elections and they're political figures in their own right. I don't really have any hard and fast rules and I'm kinda playing it by ear as far as who gets on the list and who doesn't, but I think I'd rather be generous, get people on the list, and then allow readers to decide if a person is worth following or not.
